Another fantastic year for HGA—our 14th

Busy as ever. The free central parking is a welcome treat for our shoppers.
2009 will be remembered for the global economic downturn which, in all honesty, had us concerned about Home-Grown Alternatives, Bermuda. At one point postponing the event was considered. But, sensibility prevailed and we agreed that the show must go on. Despite the event being a bit later than usual we set out upon promoting the event with our usual enthusiasm. Many people, including some of our vendors don’t realize the effort that goes into promoting HGA: email, newspaper ads and article, radio interviews, phone calls, “snail” mail, word-of-mouth, our participants and supporters efforts, posters and flyers, in-car posters, promotional handouts, etc. However, we firmly keep in mind that it is you the shopper that makes the event.
We are now looking forward to next year—our 15th. Whew! Who would have thought that the little event that started on the chilly, windy morning in 1995 at Admiralty House Ball Room would still be going strong. Those were great memories. We have seen our children grow up and start their own families. We have see hairlines recede, hair turn grey, waistlines expand—and sometimes contract—along with meeting new friends. Lets look forward to creating more memories in the future. See you in 2010.
